Biography

Antonio Mancuso Marcello is born 2 January 1906 and baptized four days later, named after his paternal grandfather. He is the son of Vincenzo Mancuso Marcello and Giuseppa Lisotta. His godparents are Calogero Majuri and Santa Lo Bello, a married couple.^[1]

Antonio's godfather, and two of his brothers, are known members of Mafia leadership around this time.

Antonio marries Lucia Pennino, daughter of Salvatore Pennino and Orsola Gagliano, on 24 February 1946.^[2]

Antonio and his brothers, Antonino and Giuseppe, appear as defendants in the 1969 Mafia trial in Bari. Antonino appears twice in this record, with different birth dates. The earlier date matches Antonino's baptismal date.^[3]
